I’ve never actually tried Color Club before, I always tend to stray away from them…I think its just because I don’t like the packaging. I know, I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover…but I do…besides this isnt a book…this is nail polish, all about the looks. So anyways, when I saw these two colors at Sally I decided I just had to give it a try because these glitter combos look awwwwwsome. Not only are they super chunky glittery, they are scented as well. I can’t say they have a specific scent when they dry…but they do remind me of that scratch ‘n sniff sticker smell.
Sugar Plum Yum and Very Merry Berry are both clear based polishes packed with glitter. Sugar Plum Yum contains small green glitter with chunky purple glitter. Very Merry Berry contains small light blue glitter with chunky magenta glitter. My first attempt was to try and layer Sugar Plum Yum on its own …. but that turned into a disgusting mess, and I will not share those photos either. Since these polishes are so chunky they are much better used for layering over other shades.
After my first failed attempt, I decided to layer Sugar Plum Yum and Very Merry Berry over Orly’s Goth which is a black with specks of fine silver glitter.
Sugar Plum Yum kind of gives off a Barney puke look…I’m on the fence on this one.
On the other hand (literally) Very Merry Berry makes me think of cotton candy jewels on my finger tips. I love this color combo.
