Urban Decay Meltdown and Kleancolor Born to the Purple
I’m slowly, but surely, getting through the Kleancolors I posted in my last haul. For my second Kleancolor experience I decided to use UD’s Meltdown as a base for Born to the Purple. The end results of this combo actually reminded me of a much more subtle version of Deborah Lippmann’s Bad Romance.
Urban Decay Meltdown is from the Apocalyptic nail kit and is a shimmery deep purple. I’m happy with my choice to bring out this oldie kit as I think Meltdown works really well as a base color for this mani.
Kleancolor Born to the Purple is a thick (seriously…it’s pretty thick) magenta purple jelly base with large purple hex glitter and a lesser amount of smaller sized glitter. As with my experience with the other Kleancolor glitters and most other chunky glitters it takes extra work to grab and distribute the glitter evenly. I applied one coat and did a lil fishing and dabbing to achieve my look. I’m sure it would have looked good with two coats as well, but I liked how it looked with accents of glitter rather than having another glitter bomb on my nails.

As a topcoat I used Essie’s Good To Go. I really like the finish that the jelly base and the topcoat gave this mani, it was super shiny and looked glass like. So far i’m 2 for 2 with Kleancolor, no disappointments yet

The glitter is a little too chunky for me, personally, but I do like this look a lot!! =)

That’s true. I actually find it easier to remove chucky glitters than the finer ones though… But I usually get it down to the point that I can just peal them off. =P
