Nerd Lacquer Shiny

It’s Nerd Lacquer time! I still have a few untried NL polishes in my stash that I’ve been saving, not for any special occasion, but just because I don’t know when the next time I’ll be able to get some more. Amanda’s Etsy shop has been closed for some time and she’s been sold out for just as long on other sites that carry her polishes :(

My boyfriend started watching Doctor Who on Netflix today and it reminded me of Nerd Lacquer since she has a few polishes named after the series. So I decided to bust out the Nerd Lacquer, in which I chose Shiny. Yes, I know it has nothing to do with Doctor Who, but the Doctor Who brought me to the Nerd Lacquer which lead me to Shiny…got it? ;)

As I usually do with my Nerd Lacquer posts, I’m just going to use Amanda’s description of Shiny since she does it best : ” Shiny is a clear sky blue with sapphire shift, silver and white microglitter, ultrafine opalescent blue glitter, multiple sizes of silver hex glitter, plus medium square white and silver glitter. It’s spacey, it’s cool, it’s synonymous with “fine,” and it’s very shiny indeed.” Can you see how its much easier to stick with her description? There’s so much going on in her polishes that I wouldn’t be able to do it justice by picking out all the elements on my own.

I used two coats for the following pictures, although I think it looked really good and a little lighter with just one coat as well. The formula was a little on the thick side, but nothing unmanageable. I also applied one coat of OPI Servin Up Sparkle on my ring finger to give it a lil more sparkle…but mostly because I’ve been itching to try it out…it really didn’t make much of a difference since Shiny is already so “shiny” on its own.

* Sorry for the horrid dry cuticles >.< I actually had a bunch of dry top coat still on my skin that I didn’t notice while posting on my MAC. Its amazing the difference in monitors now that I’m looking at it on my work PC. Thats what I get for rushing…and not photoshopping :P

I like it with the OPI on top so all the glitter isn’t covered! Plus, it’s such a pretty blue!

Yea I’m on the fence with adding any extras to Nerd Lacquer.
