I guess I have gradient glitters still on my mind since my Candeo Colors post. Sooo here’s another one! I paired up OPI My Pointe Exactly with L’oreal Silver Sparkle.
My Pointe Exactly is from OPI’s fairly new New York City Ballet collection. The entire collection consists of very sheer pale jellies with the exception of one glitter. I wanted to try at least one of them out so I chose My Pointe Exactly since it looked the darkest to me and I liked the idea of having a gray jelly even if it was super sheer. In order to get some sort of opaqueness I applied 3 coats but still had some visible nail…thats where my gradient comes in.
L’oreal Silver Sparkle is from the Summer 2012 It’s Gold or Nothing At All Collection. It kind of reminds me of a cross between the China Glaze Prismatic collection and China Glaze Snow Globe as it is packed with iridescent and light gold glitter and in the bottle it kind of shifts between a very pale pink and a light silver. I ended up liking it more in the bottle than as a full mani, thats another reason why I used it as a gradient.
Application for this mani: 1 coat of CND Ridge Out base coat, 3 coats OPI My Pointe Exactly, sponged L’oreal Silver Sparkle and 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat.
I’m not too excited about this one. I like it more in person as it is A LOT more sparkly and gives me icy nail tips. This glitter just swallows the light or something because I was not able to get it to sparkle at all under direct light in my light box. I missed out on the sunlight so I was stuck with this :/
