Hey Everyone!
On my last trip to Sally I stocked up on all the new China Glaze neons they had and picked up two of the new Orly Glam FX polishes, Mermaid Tale and Spazmatic. I’ve been drafting this post for a while now, the polish fairies did not want me to wear these glitters! I kept having to wear interview appropriate shades and when that wasn’t going on I had non stop rain and clouds. Boooo I need sunshine for these glitters! So as you may notice, my nails are different lengths in these pics as I had to cut them down during the whole waiting process.
Mermaid Tale is a clear base with small, teeny, and micro green and holographic glitter. (like that description?
) It’s that perfect “mermaid green” that I loooove. *sigh* If only I could be a mermaid… I need to learn how to swim first lol. It could be worked up to a full coverage glitter, but I like it best as a single coater over a base color.
I layered Mermaid Tale over Sonia Kashuk Fairy Princess. I first tested it out over a swatch I had done of SOPI Mermaid to Order in a previous post and it looked perfect together. I decided not to go with it though because I don’t like repeating a polish so soon. So FYI if you have SOPI Mermaid to Order, try it out with Mermaid Tale and see how you like. Otherwise I really like it over Fairy Princess because the glitter doesn’t blend in with the base so it still stands out.

Originally I intended on only buying Mermaid Tale, but Spazmatic made its way home with me because its such a gorgeous blue and the name was a big sell point. It is a clear base with blue hex glitter, but also has a gorgeous blueish purple iridescent shimmer in it. The shimmer gives it a lot of depth and saves it from being just a pretty blue but boring glitter.
I layered Spazmatic over Orly Skinny Dip. I love the combination, they just compliment each other so well in my opinion. I’m spazzing with love over this
I wouldn’t recommend working this one up for full coverage because it’ll be a while until you get there. The glitter isn’t as dense as Mermaid Tale. On the plus side, the brush doesn’t fail to grab tons of glitter so application wasn’t bad. Just a warning, you may have to dab and work with it a little for placement since the brush tends to push all the glitter towards the tip of the nail.
(Spazmatic was photographed indoors in indirect sunlight)
Orly Flash Glam FX normally retails for $8.99. Sally’s is having a sale on Orly for $5.99 each, but it states in this months sale flyer that it excludes Glam FX. However that was not the case when they rang up as $5.99 and I didn’t notice until I looked at my receipt much later. That with my 15% off made me oodles happy. So hopefully some of you had a little luck at the register too!

On the bright side, you’re lucky enough to have OPI Black Spotted sold only in France. Very jealous!

Yay! Glad you got a good deal too, they’re so expensive otherwise! Sashay My Way looks really cool, it reminds me so much of an indie polish
