KB Shimmer Sugar Scrub

Hey Everyone!

After admiring all the KB Shimmer swatches I’ve seen recently I finally placed my first order when Christy opened shop last week.  I had to control myself so I took an abnormally long time to decide on what to purchase. I knew I wanted to try her sugar scrubs since the one I’m currently using is almost out. I also limited myself to just two polishes. Well, after loading my cart up with way more than just 2 I made myself walk away. Which I did…that lasted for only like half an hour. I inevitably made my purchase of one sugar scrub and JUST two polishes. This isn’t a nail polish post though so you’ll have to see what polishes I chose at a later time ;)

The sugar scrub I selected was Southern Belle. The description sold me “ Sweet peaches ripe from the vine, hives dripping with golden honey, white picked fences and green grass, ahh, summer in the south. A fresh blends of ginger, peach, mango, clove, citrus, the body of this sweet fragrance combines orange blossom, rose, and jasmine. Rounding out the blend is a slight hint of musk and woods” Southern Belle smells so freaking delicious I can’t even tell you! The fragrance is really sweet and also lingers on your hands for a good amount of time, but its not too strong, just noticeable when you put your hands to your face.

I happened to be prepping for a foot soak (which I almost never take the time to do) just as this arrived in the mail so I was able to immediately use it and try it on my feet. The scrub is super thick and coarse which was great for really rubbing into my heels.

Its very important to keep moisture out of the container to preserve its freshness because the sugar will kind of melt and lose its coarse texture. I’ve learned this from my last sugar scrub since half way through it started getting watery and melted. It also states this on KB Shimmers packaging. So be careful when using this in the shower or even leaving the top off because the moisture in the air can affect it as well.

KB Shimmer sugar scrubs come in a 9oz jar and sell for $10 each. I think this is a great price for a handmade good quality scrub. I was previously using True Blue Spa in a 5oz jar costing $12. Over priced much??  I don’t use sugar scrubs on my full body, just my hands and feet and maybe elbows from time to time so the 9oz jar will last me a while.  I believe there are 10 different sugar scrubs listed on the site so there’s plenty of a selection to choose from if Southern Belle isn’t your flavor. I know I can’t wait to try out the rest, especially Paradise in particular.

Other than sugar scrubs, KB Shimmer also sells nail polish, soaps, lip balms, bath bombs, butters and lotions…all handmade and created by Christy.

You can visit KB Shimmer through their Etsy shop as well as their own KB Shimmer site. Harlow & Co also now carries a large selection of KB Shimmer nail polish, sugar scrubs, and lotions.

*Currently the Etsy shop is on vacation mode, but you can still place orders through the KB Shimmer site and Harlow & Co.

She has a lot of other scents/ flavors that sound amazing. I was debating between Southern Belle and Paradise.

Since my skin is in a constant battle against me, any good quality scrub is a welcome friend to me!!! A Place On Earth is my forever and ever favorite, but I’ll have to snag one of these!

Its a good alternative if you run out in between your Cap May trips!
