Orly Nail Rescue

Hey Everyone!

Super duper quick post today! If you read my previous post you will know I had a really bad break on one of my nails (on my swatching hand of course!). I went out and bought Orly Nail Rescue yesterday without any previous knowledge about it. Once I got back I heard lots of good things from everyone who responded to me on Twitter and Instagram when asked if it was any good.

So here is a before and after pic of my breakage.

Please excuse the dirtiness of my nail. It’s a break/split combo so nail polish got under and in between…I was not about to mess around with it to get it out.

All you have to really do is apply the “nail glue”  on your entire nail (or just a section, your preference) and then dip in in the acrylic powder and buff it down. I applied it to my whole nail and buffed it down, but it still left me with a dusty look, but its actually smooth to the touch. Which is fine by me because I’m going to polish over it anyways.  It pretty much formed a protective shell over my entire nail which seems like it will do the trick in protecting my nail as it grows out.

If you want to see a really good review of Orly Nail Rescue with step by step pictures check out Chalkboard Nails, I read her review before I applied my Nail Rescue and it gave me an idea of what to expect. Plus her nails are much prettier to look at :P

Oh no! Well the good thing is, even though its $7.99 there’s enough in the package to last you for a whole ton of breaks!

I use this stuff and its great. You’ve just gotta make sure you soak it off rather than pick or buff it off as the glue can do a bit of damage to your nail surface. I’m in Australia and I’ve never seen this stuff in the stores here so I bought it off eBay. Once if first tried it and realised how good it was I bought a back up:)

Thanks for the tip :) I was thinking rubbing with acetone would still be difficult so soaking is a good idea.

I just got this stuff like last week and so far it seems to be holding up well on my thumbnail. So much easier than the teabag method I’d used previously. That method’s pretty effective, but annoying enough to apply that I’d pretty much given up on it. This is so much better. =)

I’ve never used the teabag method or even heard of it until today actually!

I’ve never seen this stuff, but I’m going to get some! I fear a bad nail break like you wouldn’t believe. Since I’ve been keeping my nails short, I haven’t had a nasty break in quite a long time. Thanks for the review and sorry about your nail…it looks painful!
