Lush Charity Pot

Hey Everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well and keeping warm in this horribly cold weather if you’re here in the North East (or somewhere even colder!)…For all you warm weather people…just don’t, I don’t even want to hear it.

Last month when I was doing some of my Christmas shopping at Lush I of course had to pick up a few items for myself. One of those items was the Lush Charity Pot. It was actually a last second purchase at the register while I was checking out and it’s become my favorite item I purchased during that shopping trip.

Let me tell you a little bit about Lush Charity Pot….

Lush Charity Pot

Lush Charity Pot

Lush Charity Pot is a creamy and ultra hydrating hand and body lotion with a very subtle and natural scent. I can’t really think of a description to describe the scent so here is Lush’s official description:

Charitable Cocoa Butter Cream That Keeps on GivingInside every black pot of Charity Pot is a whole lot more than a creamy body lotion to hydrate parched, dry skin. Of course, it’s filled with the finest ingredients, including Fair Trade organic cocoa butter, and made by hand with love. Not to mention the gorgeous fresh, ylang ylang floral fragrance. What makes it so special? Every penny (yes, every single penny) that you pay for a pot, excluding the tax, goes to fund and support grassroots charities all around the world. You end up with softer, floral-scented skin AND you’re doing a world of good with every pot purchased.”

100% of the proceeds goes to charity….how awesome is that? It’s not too often that I see a company donate 100% of the profit from a product, so that was a big selling point for me. I know in store there were pots labeled with different charities so you can choose which ones to support. There were only like 2 pots left when I bought mine so I’m unsure of what the other charities were. I happened to pick the charity Friends of the Rouge. I checked online and I don’t see any option for choosing a charity if you buy online so I’m not too sure how it works if you purchase from there.

The reasons why I love Charity Pot:

A) 100% proceeds go to charity

B) The scent is soft and not over powering

C) Extremely hydrating without leaving your skin feeling oily or greasy

D) Price!

Charity Pots come in two sizes: 1.7oz $5.95 and 7.9oz $22.95

I don’t like to purchase large sizes in lotions because I have so many already so the 1.7 oz for $5.95 was perfect. Plus I’ve learned that with most Lush products a little goes a long way!

I wish there was a lush store somewhere around here because although I find most of their stuff to be grossly overpriced, I would like to try some of their products at some point. That’s awesome that all the money goes to charity. From all I’ve heard Lush sounds like a cool company.

I stayed away from Lush for the longest time mostly because of the prices, but then I tried out some of their less expensive products and love them. The most expensive thing I bought from them was the Ocean Salt Scrub which was like $22 but it lasted me for about a year, I still had a little left when it expired. Depending on what you get it can last a really long time and be worth the $ in the long run. But yes a lot of their stuff is too pricey for me to even try. I can’t purchase from Lush on a consistent basis like others, it’s more of an occasional treat for me. Although, if I had the money…. :P
Oh, and even if you don’t buy anything it’s still fun to go in the store because the sales people there are always super nice and are more than happy to test products on you in the store without being too pushy.

    Oh this sounds sooooo nice!!!
I bought me a handcream today, just a cheapy/drugstore brand one that smelt really nice and so far so good so we’ll see! I know it’s weird but I have more dry skin in summer than winter :-/

I have waaaay too many lotions so I shouldn’t have bought this really. But most of my lotions are gifts so I wanted to pick my own for once lol. I always feel accomplished when I finish one. I have dry skin more during the winter, but I know a lot of people who have dry skin in the summer too so it’s not too weird ;)

100% to charity is AMAZING! Rumours fly that there will soon be a Lush near me. I can’t wait. I love the scent of ylang ylang too, so charity pot would be a great purchase for me.

Haha! Apparently I haven’t been to the mall in a really long time. Lush has been here for quite some time. I may need to spoil myself soon.

Lol thats too funny, now you have no excuse not to try some Lush! :)

I have never tried any Lush products and I think that it’s been good that I have stayed away because if the products are as good as I hear, I will probably get all addicted and you know what will end up happening. I think it’s awesome that 100% goes to charity–very rare nowadays.

Normally I’d say to try some Lush, but since you tend to overdo things I think it’s wise you stay away for the time being ;)
